A bold Orkney malt matured from a refill Oloroso sherry cask.
The nose is rich and characterful with roasted nuts, orange peel, gingerbread and soft smoke. Beneath that, raisins, salted toffee and a little sea spray.
The palate is oily and robust. Smoked almonds, sticky dates and Seville orange lead into earthy peat, chocolate raisins and a gentle peppery spice.
Dry, nutty and lightly smoky on the finish.
Blind Summit is an Edinburgh-based independent whisky bottler founded by friends Jamie and James, who between them bring over 34 years of whisky and wine expertise to every release. Specialising in single cask Scotch whiskies sourced from distilleries across Scotland, they take a genuinely hands-on approach – tasting, selecting, maturing and bottling each expression themselves, releasing it only when it’s truly ready.
Every bottling is a one-off, produced in tiny quantities and dressed in a label featuring original artwork commissioned from an Edinburgh-based artist, each piece inspired by a place they love in Scotland. Whether it’s a rare Islay malt, a wine-finished Speyside, or an aged grain whisky, each Blind Summit release is a carefully considered, unrepeatable whisky worth seeking out.
