“Agrícola de Vinos La Portera” is a small project founded in 2017 by Jorge Navascues and Javier del Blanco, soon joined by another friend, Francisco Santiso, with the aim of sharing their passion and knowledge in the wine industry. After years of experience advising and managing other wineries, it was a natural transition for them to establish their own company within which to develop their ideas and principles. Today, they divide their time working separately for some of the most prestigious wineries in different regions of Spain while also devoting time to their own project.
Jorge comes from a family of grape growers and winemakers, with roots in Aragon and Requena. Seeing the potential of a Bobal vineyard in the small town of La Portera (Valencia) – where his maternal family is from, the friends launched their first wine, La Pinada in 2017 to much acclain. They later found two exceptional Garnacha plots in Cariñena (Aragón) where they produced a second wine, Tardano, in 2019.
Their winemaking is very gentle; they prioritize elegance over opulence and to ensure that the wines reflect the identity of their place of origin.
